JourneyWriter began, in October of 2017, as a hopeful dream. Marrissa Lawson had begun a small internship for an editing company based in South Carolina and started her own research on what it would take to be a serious editor. As she researched, she found that the sort of authors she would receive full novels from were inexperienced but passionate. Through heavy doses of trial and error, Marrissa was able to distinguish her love for helping someone tell the stories in their hearts. From there she began to dream big and asked her fellow writers, Susan Schade, Caitlin Smith, and Infiniti Ingraham, to join her on an adventure- ones that were just as devoted as she had become to telling stories that would allow writers and readers alike to escape down their own path.
Now, JourneyWriter has become a team determined to innovate, create, produce, and introduce the works of new voices. We are committed to editing contemporary commercial and literary fiction and nonfiction for children and adults. We are interested in new formats, new voices, and exploring new genres. We are wanting to create a shelf for New Adult, illustrated YA books, and so on. To get more on the wishlists of the editors of the team, visit our Team page.
